There is one small minus, Vicks VapoRub can turn your nail dark for some reason but this WILL grow out eventually Soon you can start to file down the infected part from the top and a healthy nail will start to push out the old infected parts. You have to keep up with this treatment until the entire diseased part has gone and a new healthy nail has grown back. This may take up to a few months depending how fast your nails grow of course.
